the charlotte mecklenburg library did have existing social media accounts. however, what they didn’t have was an integrated marketing communications plan to use said accounts. upon hire, i created a social media tool kit, a social media census and an integrated web marketing communications plan. here are the results…
developed and implemented the system wide web 2.0 strategy for charlotte mecklenburg library utilizing twitter (@cmlibrary) , a facebook fan page (cmlibrary), foursquare and more. developed a system wide social media tool kit designed to inform and streamline the execution of location/program specific web 2.0 sites. developed a social media census used to aggregate all web 2.0 accounts per library location and program. executed an integrated marketing communications strategy designed to turn ‘friends’ and ‘followers’ into patrons. grew system wide twitter account to over 1300 friends in 4 months (784% increase). grew system wide facebook account to over 3,600 fans in 1 month (802% increase). created widely used hashtag that was picked up by the local newspaper to aggregate content during crisis.
